People have written that, in Dickens' books, London is a character in its own right. London interacts with other characters, and moves the story forward.
\nThat being the case, it makes absolute sense that people would want to visit the locations associated with the books.
\n‘Dickensland’ is an entertaining tour of such sites…whether they are real or fake.

\njust two portaloos at the three mile point is nowhere near enough
\nwe were lucky with the weather
\nI didn’t win
\ntrying to spot my young, bearded, skinny chum coming the other away among lots and lots of other young, bearded, skinny people is enough to make you go cross-eyed. It’s like an endurance version of Where’s Wally
\nit’s a nice medal. It looks a bit on-the-nose, but the detail is nice
\nI’m very grateful to the organisers and volunteers for putting it on

\nThis wasn’t entirely my cup of tea, but i did enjoy it.
\nSPOILER ALERT - im not aure if it is a spoiler really, as its not part of the story….but the most shocking thing was in the afterword, when the author reveals that the tragedy in the story was a real event, albeit in Sunderland and not London.
